PRESS ACQUIRES STATE-OF-THE-ART AUTOMATED PREPRESS SYSTEM—
SPEEDS PROOFS, ENHANCES QUALITY AND SAVES CLIENTS MONEY!!
Kent Zwingelberg, President of Sprint Press/Denver, revealed
today that Sprint Press (both sheetfed and web divisions)
will take imminent delivery on a leading-edge fully automated
pre-press system developed by Creo Systems (formerly Creo/Scitex).
This system, based on the newest Brisque 5.0 RIP and powered
by the revolutionary InSight Server, will allow Sprint’s
customers to electronically send their files and receive rapid-fire
soft proofs back to their own computers, and hard proofs overnight.
Some customers have declared themselves ready to approve soft
proofs for press, indicating that their color-calibrated monitors
make hard-proofing unnecessary on many projects. The new hardware
and software are projected to complete testing and acceptance
at both plant locations by October 1 of this year.
In addition to shaving several days off the proofing cycle
for their clients, the companies have also invested in the
newest laser plate imaging equipment, which creates pristine
image clarity that surpasses even the superior quality for
which Sprint Press was already widely known.
The Sprint Companies’ history of aggressive pursuit
of technological advantage has landed them a leadership position
in all aspects of commercial printing. Asked about their ambitious
plans, Zwingelberg credited a long-range vision for customer
satisfaction for guiding all corporate decision-making. Dedicated
to top quality and impeccable service, the Sprint Companies
rely on their technical edge to enhance competitiveness.
Local Sprint Press salesperson, Patricia Jahla, noted that
the addition of data base mining and list development, a service
unique among Colorado printing companies, has already met
with great success. Jahla said “Sprint really does ‘get’
the big picture – we concern ourselves and support our
clients’ needs from concept to completion. We are front-line
providers of data-base mining, list development, the best
electronic prepress the industry has to offer, superb press
facilities, with 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8-color options, specialty
in-line coatings and a wealth of options in the bindery. We
list process and mail in both our plants. And the near-term
plan, to be operational in about 16 months, is to have an
8-unit web in our plant in Ft. Worth. The new building for
it is being built as we speak.”
